October 20, 2026 — At Fenasan 2026, Latin America’s leading sanitation and water exhibition held at the Expo Center Norte, KAIFA demonstrated how advanced metering infrastructure and real-time data analytics helped regional utilities tackle operational inefficiencies.
Under the theme "Live Data, Lasting Accuracy," KAIFA’s exhibit focused on practical solutions for regulatory compliance, non-revenue water (NRW) reduction, and scalable network modernization.

Tackling Regulatory Demands and Water Loss
As Latin America’s water sector undergoes significant structural reform—accelerated by frameworks like Brazil's New Sanitation Legal Framework—utility operators faced growing pressure to improve service coverage while optimizing operational efficiency.
In aging distribution networks, physical leaks and the natural measurement degradation of traditional mechanical meters over time contributed heavily to NRW. For municipal operators, addressing these losses remained critical to protecting revenue, meeting performance targets, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
From Precise Measurement to Actionable Insight
During the exhibition, KAIFA highlighted three key areas designed to help utilities lower operating costs and improve network visibility:
- Lifecycle Accuracy: High-precision ultrasonic smart water meters designed with a non-mechanical structure and ultra-low starting flow. These meters captured minor leaks and prevented accuracy loss over time, safeguarding utility revenue across the product lifecycle.
- Localized Supply Chain & Regional Support: Combining global R&D with established manufacturing and service capabilities in Brazil and across Latin America. This ensured full regulatory compliance while minimizing supply chain risks and lowering operational costs for local clients.
- Data-Driven Network Management: An AMI platform supporting NB-IoT and LoRaWAN protocols that turned real-time sensor data into actionable intelligence. The platform enabled automated leak detection and proactive anomaly alerts, helping utilities shift from reactive repairs to predictive maintenance.
"In Brazil and the wider Latin American market, our goal is to help utilities turn live data and measurement accuracy into measurable business value," said Chen Xin, Sales Director for Latin America at KAIFA. "By combining reliable technology with responsive local support, we partner with municipal operators to reduce water loss and build more efficient, sustainable operations."

Supporting Long-Term Water Infrastructure Modernization
In line with Fenasan’s focus on sanitation and innovation, KAIFA worked closely with local utilities, municipalities, and industry partners during the event to advance digital transformation. Moving forward, KAIFA remains committed to investing in smart sensing and resilient digital infrastructure, supporting Latin America’s water sector as it builds a more efficient and sustainable future.
